CITICON as sub contractor was awarded through tender process the waterproofing and joint sealing for Germiston hospital by Mvela Phanda Construction. Germiston is a 300 bed hospital and initial project cost estimated at R300 million plus and had created employment for 3070 workers. CITICON had completed to date 9323m² of 4mm Torch on waterproofing, 6365m² Silver coat, 1085m² waterproofing to showers and 3362m of joint sealing.

SASOL TEMANE PLANT, MOZAMBIQUE

CITICON was contracted by Aqua Engineering to apply a coating to Biological reactor tanks used for sewerage treatment at the Sasol Temane plant in Mozambique.Aqua engineering has vast experience in industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment solutions and required a product and services of a team that has experience in specialist coatings. The base of the tank consists of concrete and the tank which is glass fused to steel needed a product that could bond to both substrates with high strength and flexibility and that has high chemical resistance. The glass fused to steel is a unique tank that combines the best of both worlds, the strength and flexibility of steel combined with corrosion resistance of glass. It provides years of trouble-free service in harsh environments. Polyurea was the approved product and with great success. The product was chosen as the drying time took a matter of seconds and the product is seamless and water tight. The base as well as the tank wall at a height of 400mm was cleaned primed and coated at a thickness of 2mm.
