Concrete reservoir repairs
A well designed and constructed reservoir can continue adding value for many years if it is maintained and repaired correctly by an expert with an impressive track record in the field.
Considering our skills and experience prolonging the useable lives of this critical infrastructure, we were engaged to repair this reservoir in Dysselsdorp, a dry area of the country that has also experienced severe water shortages in the past. Every drop of water needs to be used efficiently by also addressing leaks from critical water supply infrastructure.
The entire surface was ground before we started repairing the about 750m-long cracks in the substrate with StonCor Africa’s Dural 618, a two-component, solvent-free structural epoxy liquid adhesive that restores the structural integrity of concrete.
StonCor Africa Vandex Plugs were used to plug negative penetrating water. It is a rapid-setting hydraulic cement compound with crystalline properties used to instantly stop running water or seepage in concrete. We then sealed all joints with the company’s extremely durable and flexible Euco Flexible Tape before treating the entire surface with StonCor Africa’s Vandex BB75, the company’s engineered surface waterproof coating with hydrophobic properties.
